In 2016, can we take LDC extensions to a deeper level, better aligned with the concerns of each discipline? LDC has always invited module authors to add an extension to a teaching task—one that calls for "an activity in which students share or apply what they have learned with a real-world audience or through a hands-on project.” Here come four new ideas for using that option, one each for science, social studies, and English language arts, plus one on adding a skills cluster to support students’ extension efforts.
