It isn’t everyday that one’s classroom is turned into a mini production studio—replete with multiple cameras, on-site crew, booms, and microphones! On August 20 and 21, a Hollywood production crew visited two of LDC educator Sherri McPherson’s classes at Lafayette High School in Fayette County, Kentucky, to capture footage of students actively engaged in learning. A veteran ELA teacher with five years’ experience with LDC, Sherri was a member of one of the original groups of teachers in Kentucky who became involved with LDC in 2009.
Segments of this classroom footage were included in a special one-hour broadcast highlighting Think It Up, a national education initiative of the Entertainment Industry Foundation in support of students, teachers, and schools that seeks to foster a culture of excitement about learning and education in classrooms across the country.
